Fairwinds Technologies has taken cutting edge Terra Ferma Light Fidelity (LiFi) technology and tailored it for the defense industry.
Terra Ferma LiFi uses invisible light in the Infrared Spectrum to enable secure, wireless communications within a defined area.
LiFi provides multiple benefits to military applications including:
- Works in areas where WiFi is not allowed, including remote locations
- LiFi emits no RF signals and cannot be remotely intercepted by hackers
- Connection confined to area where light is shone. Simply close doors, window shades or curtains and LiFi is not visible or hackable by anyone outside the controlled area
- Low interference. Free from RF interference and no dilution with multiple users
- Utilizes Power over Ethernet (PoE) to enable both power and equipment efficiencies

How Does It Work?
Data travels to your router and on to a LiFi access point. The access point transmits data to a private user within the infrared cone.
A dongle on the user’s computer interfaces with the access point and serves as a wireless connection.
