ANNAPOLIS, Maryland (March 9, 2023) Fairwinds Technologies is proud to be selected to support the U.S. Air Force as a prime contractor to deliver wireless connectivity kits for the Theater Deployable Communications (TDC) Program of Record via the Radio Frequency Kits version 2 (RFKv2) project. The Delivery Order was awarded on the NASA Solutions for Enterprise-Wide Procurement (SEWP) V Indefinite Delivery/Indefinite Quantity (IDIQ) contract.
TDC provides an extension of the Global Information Grid (GIG) and supplies the warfighter with flexible, lightweight, modular, scalable and integrated deployable communications to support the execution of command and control, intelligence, surveillance and combat support missions.
Radio Frequency Kit version 2 (RFKv2) is a modular and scalable Internet Protocol-based package, capable of providing point-to-point and point-to-multipoint connections to extend the network wirelessly when running cables is not possible.
The Fairwinds-provided RFK solution is a turnkey, semi-customizable and deployable network communications node that combines Military Specifications (MIL-SPEC) ruggedized and toolless masts, power, and cabling with the MIL-SPEC Point-to-Point (PTP) 45700 Microwave Line of Sight (MLOS) radio.
As the prime contractor, Fairwinds will work with industry partners Cambium Networks, the incumbent provider of RFK version 1 (RFKv1), and Elaborit for cyber and Risk Management Framework support.
“We are honored to integrate best of breed technology and state-of-the-art services to provide the U.S. Air Force with secure, rugged and reliable communications,” explains Jim Sprungle, Chief Executive Officer at Fairwinds Technologies.
