“Unprecedented Network Resilience and Security”
Fairwinds Technologies Introduces Hybrid F/A
FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
[SATELLITE 2025, Washington DC – March 5, 2025] Fairwinds Technologies, LLC and Agile have unveiled Hybrid F/A, which includes a pair of network services that deliver multi-network diversity and data camouflage capabilities to leading network edge devices.
Hybrid F/A is a bespoke, 5G/Wide Area Network (WAN) black router engine with two network services: PathLink and ShadowLink. Hybrid F/A seamlessly integrates with third-party network edge devices and will be available in a range of dedicated hardware options for diverse mission requirements.
“Fairwinds is pleased to collaborate with the bespoke 5G experts at Agile to deliver unprecedented network resilience and security to Joint Warfighters,” said James Sprungle, Fairwinds’ Chief Executive Officer. “Hybrid F/A ensures critical communications remain available and protected, even in Denied, Disrupted, Intermittent, and Limited (DDIL) environments.”
“The synergistic effort between Agile and Fairwinds will transform data sharing across separate echelons on the battlefield,” added Shehryar Wahid, Agile’s CEO. “Hybrid F/A not only enhances operational security, but also significantly improves network performance when it matters most. Hybrid F/A exemplifies our shared commitment to providing Warfighters with communications technologies that adapt to their mission needs, instead of limiting them.”
The PathLink Network Service bonds diverse WAN connections including cellular, satellite, and military radio communications, into a singular pipe. It employs intelligent routing algorithms to monitor and analyze network metrics such as latency, jitter, and bandwidth, across all available paths. PathLink automatically distributes traffic across bonded networks while continuously monitoring path performance, enabling sub-millisecond failover and dynamic load balancing to maintain optimal data flow.
The ShadowLink Network Service defeats adversarial data collection efforts by making military communications indistinguishable from routine civilian network traffic via advanced data camouflage capabilities. This protection extends to the tactical edge, effectively denying adversaries the ability to gain intelligence about force movements and operational patterns.
Together with PathLink and ShadowLink, a Hybrid F/A-enabled device delivers secure communications and increased bandwidth, lower latency and more resilient communications for Joint Warfighters. The Hybrid F/A engine will be featured inside industry leading third party network edge devices. This will extend Hybrid F/A capabilities to Department of Defense (DoD) programs of record and other users on the battlefield. Fairwinds and Agile will also develop their own family of Hybrid F/A embedded network edge devices, designed to support a wide range of missions.
